Lieu historique national du Canada du Fort-Témiscamingue

Photo : © Lieu historique national du Canada du Fort-Témiscamingue

Located on the shores of majestic Lake Témiscamingue, a few hours from major urban centres, this historic fort was built on a site populated for millennia by Algonquins, Fort Témiscamingue/Obadjiwan, and was once a major trading post. In the 17th and 18th centuries, it occupied a strategic role in the struggle between French and English for control of the fur trade, the Upper Ottawa drainage basin and Hudson Bay. In this historical meeting place, you’ll enjoy a one-of-a-kind cultural experience in harmony with nature.
